The inventor and manufacturer of the ella coffee brand, Neil Hellmann, asked me to conceive and produce a set of commercials intended to launch this innovative new concept into the highly competitive hot beverage market. The brief was for something edgy, offbeat and with viral aspirations.
I worked with fellow creative and director Guy de Lancey to pitch two distinct concepts;
1. 'NOTHING ELSE' - plays with the comedic tension between the reality of how to make a cup of ella coffee and the suggestive activity of doing so.
2. 'ONE OF THOSE MORNINGS' - plays with the space between reality and hallucination to create a thriller that is familiar to us all, finally (re)solved by drinking a cup of ella coffee.

Financial constraints prevented the client going with these concepts but he did ask us to produce an alternative set of commercials that had been devised in-house at ella.
